THE STILL ROOM is sold by Barton Technology Ltd, trading as Nutty Orange (company number 03930086, registered in England and Wales). Registered office: 20 Market Place, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 1JP. Correspondence: Suite 652, 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. Email: help@nuttyorange.com. Your card statement and receipt will show Nutty Orange.
One purchase is a licence for one group of up to 6 players to play THE STILL ROOM, an online escape room played in a web browser. It starts when your payment is taken and lasts 30 days. Within that time you can play solo or host a group, stop and pick up where you left off, and replay it. The person who paid signs in with the email address used at checkout; other players join with the game's code and their own free sign-in. Each player needs their own device. The game takes most groups 60 to 90 minutes.
You need a reasonably recent browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox) and an internet connection for the whole game.
If you get access with a free voucher code instead of buying, these same terms apply to that licence, for the player count and number of days the code gives. A voucher has no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and may carry its own expiry date or use limit.
The price is shown before you pay and includes any VAT due. You are charged once, in pounds or dollars depending on where you are. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
THE STILL ROOM is digital content supplied straight away. At checkout you ask us to give you access immediately and confirm that you understand this means you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once access begins. Access begins as soon as your payment is taken.
As a goodwill promise on top of the law: if you ask within 14 days of buying and nobody in your group has started a game yet, we will refund you in full. Email us from the address you bought with.
The game must work as described. If it doesn't (it won't load, your access doesn't appear, or something on our side is broken), email us and we will fix it or, if we can't, refund you. This is on top of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which these terms do not affect.
THE STILL ROOM is rated 16+. It is a ghost story built to frighten: sudden jump scares, loud sounds, brief flashes of light and unsettling images, and the story involves the deaths of children and adults in the past. Jump scares can be switched off in the game, and the atmosphere stays. If you or anyone playing has epilepsy or is sensitive to flashing light, sudden noise or frightening content, please take care or turn the scares off before you start.
The licence is for your group's own play. Please don't share your sign-in or post a game code publicly, resell access, or try to interfere with the game or other players. We can suspend a licence being used that way, after telling you why.
The story, images, sound, puzzles and code are ours or licensed to us. You may take screenshots and share them for personal, non-commercial use; please don't post the solutions.
If we break these terms we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result, up to the price you paid. We are not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, for business loss, or for problems caused by your own device or connection. Nothing here limits our liability where the law says it can't be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there. If there's a problem, please email us first: most things can be sorted quickly.
